Use case IoT communication

We have built a LoRa network that covers central Skellefteå and parts of Lycksele. LoRa is a wireless communication standard that is excellent for transmitting sensor data. The communication is slow, but can handle long distances and is low on power. Batteries in sensors can last up to ten years.

We have done an integration between the LoRa network server and our SSiO platform, so we get all the measurements from the LoRa-IoT devices into it.

Roller

Many of the other use cases that we described in other articles use LoRa for the data transfer, e.g. our air quality sensors, lifebuoys and water temperature sensors. We also have a sensor on a roller, to test if the geolocation is good enough to follow our iVO pilots outdoors.

Moisture sensor

We are now also testing moisture sensors that can measure the degree of moisture in the soil, which is interesting, e.g. in parks.
